Issue Position: Immigration

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2016

The number one policy issue confronting America today is immigration policy. The unconstitutional actions of the Obama administration over the past 6 years and the failure of Congress to challenge those actions has resulted in unprecedented immigration chaos across America.

With record numbers of legal and illegal immigrants in the U.S., and thousands more entering each month, many from terrorist countries, current U.S. immigration policy constitutes a clear threat to our national security and economic well-being.

The United States is a nation of laws. After 6 years of the leaders in Congress and the Obama administration refusing to enforce immigration law, in 2016 we must elect representatives who are willing to enforce existing laws while immediately securing our borders.

We must remove the incentives for legal and illegal immigration. Law abiding American taxpayers should not be forced to subsidize welfare payments, medical care, education, and other expenses for foreign nationals who voluntarily choose to enter the U.S. legally or illegally.

As your Congressman, I will work tirelessly to stop all forms of amnesty, secure our borders, complete the southern border fence, end incentives and subsidies for immigrants, sharply reduce legal immigration, and begin the conversation about the need for a pause in visa issuance by 2017.
